The YMCA is seeking fun, energetic, and enthusiastic individuals to serve as Day Camp Counselors. Counselors play a vital role in creating a safe, engaging, and positive camp experience for all participants. Ideal candidates are team-oriented, communicate effectively with parents, campers, and peers, and demonstrate patience, good judgment, and creativity.

Swimming
Hiking
Songs and group activities
Experience with children, games, music, swimming, gymnastics, or arts and crafts is a plus - but not required.
Teen Camp Counselor Requirements:
Counselors working with Teen Camp must:
Commitment & Training:
Required commitment: Full 11 weeks (June 1 – August 14, weekdays only)
Training week: June 1–5, Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Interview Process:
Interviews may be conducted in person or virtually and last approximately 30–40 minutes. Candidates will participate in discussions and respond to sample day camp scenarios.

All positions require the ability to obtain PA State Police, PA Child Abuse History, FBI Fingerprint, National Sex Offenders Registry Clearances and Mandated Reporter Training. If you do not have current clearances (within six months) the Y will help you obtain them.
