Equipment Operator – Asphalt Paving & Sitework

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Equipment Operator to join our asphalt paving and sitework team. This position primarily operates an asphalt paver and skid steer, with opportunities to operate rollers, motor graders, dozers, and excavators as needed.

Our work focuses on commercial and residential parking lots, private roads, and other projects that require precision paving—not just long, straight highway runs. The ideal candidate is safety-minded, adaptable, and willing to learn. We value attitude, work ethic, and the ability to grow more than years of experience alone.

Primary Responsibilities

• Operate asphalt pavers for commercial and residential paving projects.
• Operate skid steers for grading, material handling, cleanup, and site preparation.
• Operate rollers to achieve proper asphalt compaction and finish.
• Operate motor graders, dozers, and excavators as needed for grading and sitework.
• Perform pre- and post-operation equipment inspections and basic preventive maintenance.
• Read grades, follow project specifications, and maintain proper elevations and drainage.
• Work safely around curbs, utilities, structures, traffic, and other jobsite obstacles.
• Communicate effectively with foremen and crew members to ensure quality and productivity.
• Assist with labor tasks when equipment operation is not required.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment.

Qualifications

Preferred Experience

• Experience operating asphalt pavers and/or skid steers.
• Experience with rollers, motor graders, dozers, or excavators is a plus.
• Experience on asphalt paving crews or grading/sitework projects.
