Job Title: Pipefitter Foreman Job Description This role oversees commercial pipefitting and welding activities for new construction and renovation projects in the Tampa and Palmetto areas. You will lead field installation teams on school construction sites, ensuring high-quality installation, maintenance, and repair of a wide range of pipe systems while maintaining safety and productivity on the job. Responsibilities Plan the installation and repair of piping systems, including cutting, threading, and bending pipe to specifications. Lay out, assemble, install, maintain, and repair a variety of commercial pipe systems on new construction and renovation projects. Install valves, couplings, and other fittings to ensure proper function and integrity of piping systems. Mount hangers, brackets, and supports as required to secure piping systems safely and in accordance with project plans. Perform soldering and brazing on carbon steel and copper piping systems as part of commercial construction work. Work with schedule 40 steel pipe ranging from 2.5 inches to 8 inches in diameter. Interpret and work from construction drawings and blueprints to ensure accurate installation and alignment. Perform or oversee 6G welding tasks and ensure welds meet required standards and testing criteria. Coordinate daily tasks with other trades on site to maintain workflow and meet project deadlines. Follow all site safety procedures and promote safe work practices among the crew. Inspect completed work for quality, accuracy, and compliance with project specifications. Adapt to changing site conditions and project requirements while maintaining productivity and quality. Essential Skills ~ Minimum of 5 years of commercial construction experience in pipefitting and welding. ~ Proven experience in commercial pipefitting on new construction and renovation projects. ~ Strong skills in soldering and brazing carbon steel pipe and copper. ~ Hands-on experience working with schedule 40 steel pipe from 2.5 inches to 8 inches. ~ Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and blueprints accurately. ~6G welding certification or the ability to pass a 6G weld test. ~ Solid understanding of pipe layout, assembly, installation, maintenance, and repair. ~ Ability to install valves, couplings, and various fittings to specification. ~ Capability to cut, thread, and bend pipe using appropriate tools and techniques. ~ Experience working in commercial construction environments, including school projects. ~ Ability to work extended hours and multiple shifts as scheduled. ~ Physical ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform the demands of pipefitting work. Work Environment This is a field-based role at active new construction job sites, primarily on school projects in the Tampa and Palmetto areas. Work takes place outdoors for the majority of the time, with exposure to seasonal conditions—hot in the summer and cold in the winter. Projects include multiple school locations, and you may rotate between sites as needed. The standard schedule consists of four 10-hour shifts from Monday to Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with additional work on Friday and Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The environment is typical of commercial construction, requiring appropriate workwear and personal protective equipment, and involves regular use of pipefitting and welding tools, lifts, and jobsite equipment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tampa, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $30.00/hr.
