One of Insight Global's clients is looking to hire a Project Manager for an upcoming 3 year contract to oversee multiple fast‑paced, multi‑site ground‑up kitchen and restaurant construction projects. This role is heavily focused on building and opening food‑service environments, making prior experience in restaurant or kitchen construction, openings, and health inspections a strong indicator of success. Each project typically last around 6-9 months & each PM can expect to manage 3-4 projects at any given time with the ability to scale up additional concurrent projects dependent on scheduling and phase overlap. The role requires strong ownership, organization, and comfort managing parallel workstreams from early planning through closeout. 20% of time will be dedicated to pre-construction planning and coordination, including budgeting, scheduling, and stakeholder alignment. Majority of the time, roughly 35% to 50%, is spent actively managing construction, coordinating tenants, overseeing execution, contractor performance, inspections, and issue resolution across multiple sites. The final 30% is spend on site evaluation, risk identification & lastly, closeout – including punch lists, documentation, inspections, and final turnover.
Must Haves:
- 6–10+ years of construction project management experience / 5+ years (APM/Project Coordinator)
o Preferably in food hall, restaurant, kitchen, etc. setting
- Strong tenant coordination experience (leases, work letters, inspections)
Plusses:
· Retail construction experience (strongly preferred)
· Background in office, warehouse, industrial, or aerospace construction (Tier‑3 complexity)
· Experience with Procore or similar CM platforms
· Smartsheets Experience
Key Responsibilities
· Manage multiple fast‑paced, parallel ground‑up kitchen and restaurant construction projects from release through closeout
· Lead tenant coordination, including leases, work letters, inspections, and approvals
· Develop and manage project budgets typically ranging from ~$500K to $4–5M, or support a high volume of projects
· Partner with internal Real Estate, Legal, Design, and Operations teams, as well as external architects, contractors, tenants, and vendors
· Lead weekly OAC meetings, support value engineering, approve invoices, and drive schedules and deliverables
